Amit Shah Calls All Home Minister For Two-Day 'Chintan Shivir' In Surajkund, Mamata And Gehlot Invited: Report
MHA's Chintan Shivir In Surajkund: The two-day brainstorming session has been scheduled to discuss internal security issues and problems.
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has scheduled a Chintan Shivir of all state home ministers for October 27-28 in Surajkund, Haryana. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has been invited, as has her Rajasthan counterpart Ashok Gehlot. In their respective states, Banerjee and Gehlot also hold the Home portfolio. However, sources told PTI that Banerjee's attendance at the meeting has yet to be confirmed.
The two-day brainstorming session will focus on internal security issues and problems. According to PTI, the MHA believes that some internal security issues can be resolved through mutual coordination among states.
Sources aware of the initiative said that the country’s internal security would be the focus of the meeting in which an entire gamut of issues ranging from the modernisation of the police force and dangers of drug cartels to firefighting preparedness and laws governing enemy property would come up for discussion, The Telegraph Online reported.
Aside from that, issues concerning policing, public security, and firefighting in the states will be discussed.

According to sources, in addition to the Home Ministers, the Home Secretary and Director General of Police from each state will attend the meeting, PTI reported.
Shah will speak at both the inaugural and valedictory sessions of the two-day meeting, which will include seven separate sessions in which state home ministers will make presentations, a source told The Telegraph.
Amit Shah is expected to spend both days in Surajkund, PTI reported. Because the Union Home Minister will be staying at Surajkund for the meeting, the home ministers are likely to meet with Shah one-on-one over the two days.
“The Bengal chief minister has had testy ties with the Union home minister... Besides, she had recently attacked him relentlessly for the hyperactivity of various central agencies like the ED and the CBI... It would be interesting to see how the Bengal chief minister responds to the invite,” said a source, The Telegraph Online reported.
