People Stay In Banaras When End Is Near: Akhilesh Yadav’s Jibe At PM Modi | WATCH

The former Uttar Pradesh chief minister maintained that the people of the state will vote ruling BJP out of power as he made several other claims.

New Delhi: Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Monday took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders over the new Kashi Vishwanath corridor programme.

When asked by reporters about the PM’s Varanasi visit and the UP government’s plan to host month-long cultural events to mark the event, Akhilesh Yadav said: “Why only a month? He should stay for two months, three months. That is a good place to stay. When the end is near, people stay in Banaras”.

Interacting with the media in Saifai, Akhilesh Yadav continued to claim that BJP is inaugurating projects initiated by his government as he said: “All of you know which govt initiated the projects which the CM inaugurated in Etawah.The inaugurated jail & animal safaris still haven’t been started, cricket stadium is in ruins, electricity bills are high. They’ve discriminated against Etawah”.

The former Uttar Pradesh chief minister maintained that the people of the state will vote ruling BJP out of power as he made several other claims.

“UP public will remove BJP govt this time. The expressways which were built are SP’s expressways. BJP can lie in front of us, but not in front of God. We'll provide a compensation of Rs 25 lakh to the kin of farmers who lost their lives, once the SP govt is formed,” he said, as quoted by news agency ANI.

The elections to the Uttar Pradesh Assembly are due within three months and the Samajwadi Party claims that it will oust the BJP from power. Akhilesh-led SP was in power in the state from 2012 to 2017.
