After Lajpat And Sarojini, Two More Markets To Remain Shut In Delhi For Flouting Covid Norms

Besides, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) market in Rohini’s Sector-13 has been shut till July 12 for violation of Covid-19 norms.

New Delhi: The Gaffar and Najwala markets in the national capital will be closed from 10 p.m. on Friday till 10 p.m. on July 11 for flouting Covid-19 norms

Besides, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) market in Rohini’s Sector-13 has been shut till July 12 for violation of Covid-19 norms.

Earlier, the Lajpat Nagar and Sarojini markets were closed for flouting the norms.

The Delhi government had earlier on Tuesday ordered to further extend the closure of Madangir central market over violation of the Covid-19 protocol.

The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) had earlier issued notice to the shop owners in the Laxmi Nagar market to temporarily close their enterprises on Tuesday for alleged failure to adhere to social distancing and Covid-19 regulations.

The restrictions are being eased in a phased manner in Delhi, which was under lockdown from April 19 to May 30 during the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The markets were allowed to open from June 7.

Meanwhile, Delhi recorded 81 fresh Covid-19 cases and three deaths due to the disease on Friday.

As per the Delhi health department data, the positivity rate slightly dropped to 0.11 percent from 0.12 percent on Thursday when 93 cases and three deaths were recorded.
