After Coronavirus Pandemic, Now Mumbai Battles Havoc Caused By Heavy Rainfall

Heavy rainfall has brought Mumbai to a standstill. According to the IMD, the situation will not change for the next 2-3 days

Mumbai: Three days of continuous heavy rain has slowed down Mumbai and water-logging in the suburbs has disrupted normal life.  The BMC has also stated that the India meteorological department (IMD) has issued an orange alert. Overnight heavy rain has led to waterlogging in areas like Wadala, Dadar, and Matunga, the Andheri subway was also reported to be flooded causing minor traffic diversions. There have been 21 short circuits reported so far, however, there have been no reports of causalities. A fire broke out on the first floor of nine-storied Maker Bhavan-1 in the Fort area of south Mumbai, which was extinguished in three hours, no causalities have been reported from the fire.
