Actor Rajpal Yadav sent to 3-month civil jail by Delhi High Court

The case relates to Actor Rajpal Yadav not repaying loan worth over Rs 8 crore to a businessman.

NEW DELHI: Delhi High Court on Friday sentenced 3-month civil prison to Actor Rajpal Yadav. News agency ANI reported that he was immediately taken into custody by Delhi Police for failing to repay a loan of Rs. 5 crore which Yadav & his wife Radha had taken in 2010. Justice Rajiv Sahai Endlaw ordered that Yadav should be taken into custody and kept in the Tihar Jail. It is reported that in the case, the couple had originally availed a loan of Rs five crore from the complainant - Murli Projects - in the year 2010 and agreed to repay a sum of Rs eight crore, including the principle and the interest by June 30, 2011. The actor took the loan in 2010 to make his Hindi debut directional film "Ata Pata Laapata". (More details awaited)
