Election 2021, ABP News C-Voter Opinion Poll HIGHLIGHTS: As the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Friday evening announced dates of much-awaited Assembly elections in four states and one Union Territory (UT), ABP News along with C-Voter conducted a survey to know the mood of voters in poll-bound states of West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry.
ABP News conducted the survey and tried to understand the sentiments of people of the 5 poll-bound states and know what they really think of the present government and what changes they demand.
Meanwhile, Assembly polls in 5 states will begin on March 27 and will be held in as many as 8 phases in West Bengal. Counting of votes for all five states will be held on May 2. While making the announcement of the same, EC stated that Assam Polls 2021 will be held in 3 phases starting March 27.
The poll body said that voting for Kerala and Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections will be held in only 1 phase on April 6. Moving further, Union Territory of Puducherry, which is currently under President's Rule following the fallout of Congress-led government, will also go for polls on April 6.
Congress+Left Alliance Slips To Half In Bengal Polls
Meanwhile, eyeing at a massive setback, Congress which is contesting West Bengal Assembly Polls in alliance with Left parties, is expected to win 31-39 seats in the state. In 2016 Assembly Polls, the alliance had bagged 76 seats in the state. Congress-Left's dip in seats is directly benefitting the saffron party.
Mamata Banerjee-Led TMC Likely To Sweep Bengal Polls
ABP News Opinion Poll data shows that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is likely to get tough competition with the BJP as saffron party's aggressive campaigning in West Bengal might give it significant inroads in the state. TMC will return to power in the West Bengal and is likely to bag somewhere between 148 to 164 seats in the 294-member legislative assembly.
TMC will get a close competition with BJP which is expected to increase its tally in state assembly by winning somewhere close to 92-108 seats. It is to be noted that the saffron party managed to win only 3 seats in West Bengal in 2016 Assembly polls.
West Bengal Elections: Vote Share
The ABP News Opinion Poll shows that the Trinamool Congress will manage to secure close to 43 per cent vote share in West Bengal Polls whereas the BJP may get close to 38 per cent votes. Congress - Left parties alliance fails to deter TMC and BJP's bull run and might get restricted with mere 13 per cent votes in the states. Other parties and independent candidates may get close to 6 per cent vote share.
Mamata Banerjee Slams EC For Holding Bengal Polls In 8 Phases
Soon after the dates of Assembly polls were announced, Mamata Banerjee lashed out at the EC and questioned the intention behind conduction Bengal elections in eight phases. West Bengal CM has raised questions on the Election Commission claiming that the eight-phase voting in Bengal was part of a "conspiracy" by the Centre's ruling BJP.
Congress-Led UPA To Sweep Tamil Nadu Assembly Polls
ABP C-Voter Tamil Nadu Elections 2021 Opinion Poll:: The incumbent Edappadi K. Palaniswami is the CM face of AIADMK. The NDA alliance comprising AIADMK, BJP And Others is predicted to secure 62 seats with about 28.6 per cent vote share.
West Bengal Greater Kolkata Region Survey
ABP News C-Voter survey reveals that Greater Kolkata of West Bengal might once again fall in TMC's plate with Mamata Banerjee-led party expected to bag around 26-30 seats in the region which has a total of 35 assembly constituencies. Meanwhile, BJP lags much behind as the party is expected to win around 2-6 seats and Congress+Left alliance winning 2-4 seats.
West Bengal Assembly Elections | Full Schedule
The Election Commission on Friday announced that West Bengal will go for polls in as many as eight phases starting March 27. Counting of votes will be held on May 2. Puducherry Assembly Poll: BJP Likely Form Govt For First Time In UT
ABP News conducted a survey to gauge the mood of the voters in Union Territory of Puducherry which is scheduled to go for polls on April 6. As per the survey, BJP+ is expected to make government in the UT for first time with somewhere around 17-21 seats while Congress+ lags behind with 8-12 seats.
Kerala Assembly Polls: Pinarayi Vijayan Likely To Retain Power As LDF To Bag 83-91 Seats
ABP News-CVoter Survey found that ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) most likely to return to power in Kerala. CPI(M)-led LDF can win a simple majority by winning somewhere between 83-91 seats in the 140-member assembly. Meanwhile, Congress-led UDF might get restricted to 47-55 seats - higher than its 2016 tally when it won 47 seats.
Tamil Nadu Assembly Poll: UPA Set To Overtake AIADMK, NDA Second
In a massive setback for the BJP in Tamil Nadu as 154-162 seats have been predicted for UPA alliance which comprises (DMK, Congress and others parties) with little over 41 per cent vote share. Meanwhile, NDA (comprising AIADMK+BJP+Others) is expected to bag somewhere around 58-66 seats. The survey also states that MNM is predicted win somewhere close to 2-6 seats, while AMMK will be able to secure 1-5 seats.
