All the leaders  submitted a joint resignation letter to Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

Tara Chand, Abdul Majid Wani, Manohar Lal Sharma, Gharu Ram and former MLA Balwan Singh are some names who tendered their resignation in support of Azad today, reported PTI.

"We have submitted a joint resignation letter to Congress president Sonia Gandhi in support of Azad," said Balwan Singh, as reported by PTI.

According to the news agency, Azad is likely to launch a national-level party from Jammu and Kashmir.

Earlier on Monday, August 29, four Congress leaders and 12 workers of the Apni Party resigned from their roles in support of the veteran politician.

Azad, 73, a former union minister and veteran Congress leader resigned from all party positions, including its primary membership Friday, and held Rahul Gandhi responsible for Congress' downfall.

I a letter to Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Azad called out Rahul Gandi for "glaring immaturity" and for "demolishing the consultative mechanism" in the party.

"Unfortunately, after the entry of Rahul Gandhi into politics and particularly after January 2013, when he was appointed Vice President by you, the entire consultative mechanism which existed earlier was demolished by him," Azad wrote.
