4 Delhi Students Arrested For Torturing, Killing Pregnant Dog In New Friends Colony

In the viral video, the boys can be seen beating the dog and later dragging her carcass.

Police have arrested 4 students of Don Bosco Technical Institute for beating a pregnant dog to death in New Friends Colony area, reported ANI.

The New Friends Colony police station informed that an FIR has been registered on the basis of complaint under sections 429 and 34 of IPC & 11(1) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, reported ANI.

Around 25 students and staff members suspected to be from South East Delhi’s Don Bosco Technical Institute allegedly ganged up against a pregnant street dog and beat her to death after torturing her, officials said, reported news agency PTI. After videos of the gruesome killing went viral on social media, the New Friends Colony Police Station registered an FIR in connection with the matter.

The video of the incident clearly shows some boys gathering up and thrashing the dog and later dragging her carcass.

The 15-minute-long video carrying horrid visuals of the torture and killing of the animal went viral on Saturday with activists and dog lovers seeking strict actions against the accused, suspected to be students of the institute located in Okhla.

Later, one of the members from the crowd could be seen dragging the dog through, reportedly, the college compound.

The ghastly act surfaced within days of another such video from Ghaziabad which showed three people killing a dog by hanging him in a grotesque manner. The accused in this incident were booked in a case by police after a complaint.

"It is horrific to see such brutality by young students who can be seen laughing as they beat an expectant mother to death," said Ambika Shukla, Trustee, PFA.
