150 BJP Workers Sprayed With Sanitiser Before Mass Assimilation Into TMC

150 BJP workers were lined up while a TMC party worker sprayed sanitizer on them, as a symbolic gesture of purging their previous "sins" in the rival party BJP.

Kolkata: TMC party workers sprayed 150 BJP workers with a sanitiser prior to their joining in the ruling party. The initiation process of this floorcrossing took place in a TMC camp organised in the Islamabad area of the district.

150 BJP workers were lined up while a TMC party worker sprayed sanitizer on them, as a symbolic gesture of purging their previous "sins" in the rival party BJP. They were all made to pass through in a line, with their hands held above them, recieving the spray as they passed by.

The initiation process also involved holding of the TMC flag and shaking hands with the party workers, as chants of party supremo Mamata blared in the background.

Post-poll floorcrossings is not a new phenomenon in Bengal after TMC's win in the state assembly elections, as many former TMC aides, who deserted Mamata for BJP, made requests to the CM for reassimilation into the party, including names like Mukul Roy, Dipendu Biswas and Sarala Murmu.
