Himachal Pradesh: Congress Appoints Ex-CM Virbhadra Singh's Wife Pratibha As Party Chief
The party has also formed other committees including campaign, manifesto, coordination and state election committee for the state.
New Delhi: Ahead of the upcoming Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections, Congress has appointed Pratibha Virbhadra Singh, wife of former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, as the president of the party's state unit.
The party has appointed Mukesh Agnihotri as the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader. MLA from Nadaun Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has been made the chairman, election campaign committee, and member screening committee. The party has also formed other committees including campaign, manifesto, coordination and state election committee for the state. Current state president Kuldeep Singh Rathore has been included in the steering committee.

According to a statement issued by Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal, former Union Minister and G-23 member Anand Sharma has been made the chairman of the screening committee.
A senior Congress leader, requesting anonymity, said the Congress would not announce the chief ministerial face for the assembly elections in the state. At the same time, BJP has already announced that it will contest the elections under the leadership of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur.
According to the reports of The Indian Express, Dhaniram Shandil has been made the chairman of the manifesto committee and Ashish Bhutel as the vice-chairman. Rohit Thakur has been made the convener. Similarly, Kaul Singh Thakur has been made the chairman of the coordination committee, Suresh Chandel as the vice chairman and Prakash Chaudhary as the convener. Ramlal Thakur has been made the chairman of the election management committee, Kuldeep Singh Pathania and Anirudh Singh as the vice chairman and Raghuveer Singh Bali as the convener. Ashray Sharma has been appointed as the Chairman of the Media and Social Media Committee.
