Donald Trump Ready To Leave White House Only If Electoral College Confirms Joe Biden's Victory

The US President Donald Trump has said that he will leave the White House if the Electoral College can certify Joe Biden's victory in the elections.

New Delhi: The incumbent US President Donald Trump has said that he is ready to leave the White House if the Democrat candidate Joe Biden is declared the official winner of the election by the Electoral College. During a press conference on Thursday Trump said that he will leave the White House when Biden's victory is confirmed. "Certainly I will. And you know that. But "if they do, they made a mistake. It's going to be a very hard thing to concede. I think that there will be a lot of things happening between now and (January) 20th," said Trump when asked if he would leave the White House after Electoral College confirmation according to a report by Agence France-Presse. Trump has been challenging the election results and has even said that it has been rigged. While Joe Biden secured 290 electoral votes and 7,81,14,089 popular votes securing 50.9 percent of votes, Donald Trump on the other hand trailed the democratic nominee by securing just 232 electoral votes and 7,27,41,954 popular vote securing only 47.4 percent of votes. Trump had refused to concede defeat and had even said that there were missing ballots. The president's trade advisor Peter Navarro had also talked about election fraud. "What we seek here is verifiable ballots, certifiable ballots, and an investigation into what are growing numbers of allegations of fraud undersigned affidavits by witnesses," said Navarro.  Meanwhile, senior US federal and state election officials had said there is "no evidence" that hackers were able to tamper with the vote. Recently,  it seemed that Trump was finally coming to terms with his defeat when in his latest tweet to General Services Administration(GSA) Trump wrote 'do what needs to be done'. In his tweet, he addresses the agency's head Emily Murphy and says that her team can do 'what needs to be done with regard to initial protocols' and that he 'told my team to do the same.' The Electoral College is set to meet on December 14 to confirm Biden's victory.
