New Delhi: The family of Pulitzer Prize-winning Indian photojournalist Danish Siddiqui will go to the International Criminal Court against the Taliban. Danish Siddiqui was killed last year while covering the war in Afghanistan. At the time of the incident, he was covering the fighting in Kandahar between Afghan forces and Taliban militants for the news agency Reuters.
According to the news agency PTI, On Tuesday, Danish's parents Akhtar Siddiqui and Shahida Akhtar will start legal action to explore his killing and bring to justice those responsible, including high-level commanders and heads of the Taliban, the family said in a statement.

However the proclamation didn't say what kind of legal action would be sought, it is perceived that Danish's family will be moving the International Criminal Court against the Taliban.

The Pulitzer Prize winner, 38-year-old Danish, was from Delhi. He was graduated in Economics from Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi. After this, he studied journalism from here in 2007. He is survived by his wife and two children. He joined Reuters in 2010.
The Reuters team won the Pulitzer Prize in 2018 for its photography on the 2015 Rohingya refugee crisis. Siddiqui was also included in this team.
