Sri Lanka To Hold Swearing-In Ceremony For New Cabinet Ministers

Sri Lanka's newly-elected President Ranil Wickremesinghe will administer the oath to his cabinet on Friday. The same leaders will be included in the cabinet who were members of it (cabinet) during Wickremesinghe's tenure as the acting President.

At the convening of the Parliament session, the previous cabinet would continue to function until a national government was agreed upon, followed by a reshuffle of the cabinet.

Wickremesinghe has called for a bilateral agreement to overcome the unprecedented economic crisis facing the country. He was sworn in as the country's eighth President on Thursday after winning the election.

IMD Forecasts Moderate Rain In Delhi For Next Two Days

According to the Meteorological Department, the National Capital Delhi will experience a generally cloudy sky with moderate rain on Friday and Saturday. At the same time, it is estimated that there will be some relief from the heat due to rain, but the temperature will remain around 30 degree Celsius. 

"There will be a generally cloudy sky with moderate rains on Friday and Saturday. The maximum and minimum temperatures on Friday are likely to hover around 33 and 25 degrees Celsius, respectively," an IMD official said.

The minimum temperature on Thursday morning was recorded at 24.5 degrees Celsius, three notches below normal, following rain in many parts of the national capital. 

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the city recorded 56.6 mm of rain from 8.30 am on Wednesday to 8.30 am on Thursday.
