India, China To Hold 16th Corps Commanders Talks Today
The 16th round of Corps Commander-level talks between India and China will be held on Sunday at Chushul-Moldo on the Indian side in Ladakh. The meeting will continue with the discussion of the disengagement from friction points along the Line of Control (LAC) in the region.
"In continuation with the talks on disengagement along the LAC in eastern Ladakh, the 16th round of talks will be held on the Indian side at Chushul-Moldo Meeting Point on July 17," the source close to news agency IANS said.
In addition to the focus on disengagement at Patrolling Point 15 in the Gogra-Hot Springs area, the effort would also be to discuss disengagement from Demchok and Depsang, which have been sticking points in the last few rounds of talks, the source added.
Vice Prez polls: Opposition Parties To Discuss Joint Candidate Today
Opposition parties will meet on July 17 to discuss the joint candidate for the vice presidential election. Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha and senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge said all parties would meet on Sunday and will hold discussion on who will be their joint candidate for the post of vice president.
The tenure of incumbent M Venkaiah Naidu ends on August 10. The election has already been notified by the Election Commission and the last date for filing of nominations is July 19. The election for the post of vice president will be held on August 6.
Waterlogging, Traffic Snarls At Many Places As Rains Lash Delhi
Rains lashed Delhi on Saturday bringing respite from the oppressive humidity and heat but led to traffic congestion and waterlogging at many places.
The city had been reeling under muggy weather conditions for the last several days and Saturday rains provided much-needed relief to people who were seen enjoying the showers. People also took to social media and posted pictures of rains and waterlogging.
Areas that witnessed waterlogging and traffic congestion include Khanpur, Hauzrani, Malviya Nagar, Uttam Nagar, Dhaula Kuan, near AIIMS flyover, Mehrauli-Badarpur Road, Vikas Marg, ITO, Sikandara Road, Kirti Nagar, Anand Parbat-Zakhira road, Ring Road near Majnu Ka Tila among others.
Telangana Guv, CM To Visit Flood-Hit Areas Today
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao would undertake an aerial survey and also visit the rain and flood-hit areas in Bhadradri-Kothagudem and Mulugu districts on Sunday. He would undertake an aerial survey from Warangal to Bhadrachalam on Sunday. He would visit Bhadrachalam town and review the flood relief measures with officials.
Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan would visit flood-affected areas in the Bhadradri-Kothagudem district on July 17. The massive rise in water level in Godavari river at Bhadrachalam town in Telangana started declining on Saturday. However, it was still well above the danger mark, forcing most of the flood-hit people to stay at relief camps.
