As many as thirteen people lost their lives after falling into a well during wedding celebrations in the Nebua Naurangia area of the Kushinagar district of Uttar Pradesh.
Earlier, Speaking on this, the District Magistrate of Kushinagar, S Rajalingam said to reporters, "We have got to know that 11 people have died and two others have been seriously injured after they accidentally fell into a well. This happened during a wedding program wherein some people were sitting on a slab of a well and due to heavy load, the slab broke."
The fatalities have now reached 13.
Popular singing legend Bappi Lahiri's son Bappa Lahiri has returned from the US with his family for carrying out his father's last rites. Bappi Lahiri' last rites will be performed on Thursday in Mumbai, according to a statement released by the family.
Veteran singer-composer Bappi Lahiri passed awa0y on Wednesday at the age of 69 in Mumbai's CritiCare Hospital. His doctor Deepak Namjoshi confirmed the news of his demise. According to the doctor, the 'Disco Dancer' hitmaker died last night due to multiple health issues.
An earthquake measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale hit the Katra area in Reasi district in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday morning.
National Center for Seismology (NCS), a nodal agency of the Government for monitoring earthquakes, informed that the quake took place at a depth of five kilometres and about 84 kilometres East of Katra. "Earthquake of Magnitude: 3.5, Occurred on 17-02-2022, 03:02:45 IST, Lat: 33.08 and Long: 75.83, Depth: 5 Km, Location:84 km East of Katra, Jammu and Kashmir, India," tweeted NCS.

A rare red alert has been issued for southwest England and south Wales comes after the Met Office upgraded its "danger to life". The UK’s official weather service said that the heavy rain and strong winds are continuing in northern England and other parts of Northern Ireland, including Scotland.
The Meteorological Department's warning of a storm, Storm Eunice, led to power cuts in North East England, Cumbria, North Yorkshire, and Lancashire, as well as the cancellation of all trains in Scotland.

Breaking News LIVE: Fire Incident Reported In South Mumbai's Kamathipura, No Injury Reported
A fire broke out in a two-storey residential building in the Kamathipura area of Nagpada in central Mumbai on Thursday evening, officials said.
According to the official, the fire broke out around 7.15 pm on the second floor of the building on Maulana Azad Road in Kamathipura's fifth street.
At least four fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the fire was brought under control around 8.35 pm, the official said.
