Rahul Gandhi To Visit Karnataka To Kickstart Congress' Poll Campaign On Monday

Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Congress, will go to poll-bound Karnataka on Monday to attend the "Yuvakranti Samavesha" in Belagavi, the party announced.

The former Congress president will attend the event in Belagavi, northern Karnataka, in light of the Assembly elections scheduled for May, according to a party announcement from Sunday.

According to his schedule, Gandhi would arrive at the airport in Belagavi about 11 am, and after the event, he will travel back to Delhi.

At the "Yuvakranti Samavesha" in Belagavi, which is scheduled for Monday afternoon, the Wayanad MP will also meet with Congress leaders.

Moreover, D K Shivakumar, the president of the Karnataka Congress, will take part in the Yuvakranti Samavesha at Belagavi. The Congressman would next make his way to Kunigal on Tuesday to take part in the "Praja Dhwani" ceremony.

The Congress has pledged to provide 200 free electricity units to all families (Gruha Jyoti), 2,000 rupees a month in aid to the female head of every family (Gruha Lakshmi), and 10 kilogrammes of free grains to every BPL household member (Anna Bhagya).

In the next elections, party officials predict they will gain between 140 and 150 seats in the 224-member Assembly.
