The Russian and Ukrainian delegations have reportedly made significant progress on a 15-point draft deal to stop the war, including a ceasefire and Russian troop withdrawal if Kyiv renounces NATO membership ambitions and accepts limits on its armed forces.
The proposed deal also requires that Ukraine vows not to host foreign military bases, but gets security guarantees from allies such as the US, the UK and Turkey, the Financial Times reported.
Amid the ongoing dissent by the G-23 group demanding change of leadership in Congress post the Assembly election debacle, senior party leader Ghulam Nabi Azad will meet Sonia Gandhi on Thursday to address the grievances of the group.
It is likely that Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi will also be present at this meeting. On Wednesday, 'G-23' leaders met at Azad's residence to chalked out their strategy ahead of the meeting.
Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya held a high-level meeting with NITI Ayog's Dr VK Paul, AIIMS Director Dr Randeep Guleria and Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan on rising cases of Covid-19 in some Southeast Asian and European nations.
Mandaviya has asked senior officials to maintain alertness, active genome sequencing and high level surveillance across the country in the view of again rising cases of Covid 19 in some countries.
Meanwhile, the Health Ministry also said that over 2.6 lakh children aged 12 to 14 years received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine 'Corbevax' on the first day of the inoculation drive for this age group.
