Anti-CAA Protest, Delhi: Okhla Underpass & Portion Of Mathura Road Closed For Traffic, Heavy Traffic On DND
Delhi Traffic Police also issued advisory stating that people coming from Noida are advised to take DND or Akshardham to reach Delhi.
New Delhi: Heavy traffic was witnessed on Delhi Noida Direct (DND) Flyway on Wednesday as vehicular movement was restricted on route connecting Mathura Road to Kalindi Kunj, in the wake of violent protests in the national capital on Tuesday evening.
The Delhi Traffic Police also issued advisory stating that Road No. 13A between Mathura Road and Kalindi Kunj is closed for traffic movement. People coming from Noida are advised to take DND or Akshardham to reach Delhi.
“ Similarly people going to Noida from Mathura road are advised to take Ashram Chowk, DND or Noida link road. Okhla underpass going towards Kalindi Kunj is also closed for traffic movement,” it said.
The entry and exit gates of Jaffrabad and Maujpur - Babarpur stations were also closed on Wednesday for security reasons following the ongoing protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019, but were soon reopened within a few hours.
In its security update, the Delhi Metro rail Corporation said: "Entry & exit gates at all stations have been opened. Normal services have resumed in all stations."

However, interchange facility to continue towards Shiv Vihar is available at Maujpur. Normal service on all other stations and lines," the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) had said in a tweet. The newly-enacted Act grants citizenship to non-Muslim refugees of Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh who fled religious persecution and arrived in India until December 31, 2014. The protestors torched several motor bikes, pelted stones at police personnel and damaged buses and a police booth. Police resorted to baton charge and fired tear gas shells to disperse the protesters. Plumes of smoke billowed from at least two localities as the standoff continued for around one-and-a-half hours. Police said the situation has been brought under control. The clashes erupted two days after violence broke out during a protest in the New Friends area in South Delhi near Jamia Millia Islamia. Protests were also reported from Brijpuri in northeast Delhi around 8:30 pm, but were brought under control.Security Update
