2019 Hyundai Venue Official Sketches Revealed

Previews the upcoming sub-4m SUV which will take on the likes of the Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport and the Mahindra XUV300

Hyundai has released the official sketches of its upcoming sub-4m SUV, the Venue, revealing its exterior and interior styling along with some additional information. This comes just a few days ahead of the SUV’s official debut on 17 April 2019. As confirmed before, the sketch reveals that the Venue looks similar to the Kona SUV when seen from the front. The signature cascading grille sits at the centre, flanked by the sleek indicator lights at the top and headlights on the bumper. The Venue gets a modified version of the cascading grille with criss-cross pattern instead of the horizontal slats seen on other Hyundai cars like the Verna and the Creta. 2019 Hyundai Venue Official Sketches Revealed Like we have seen in the spy shots, the sketch also reveals the Venue’s boxy rear complemented by those squarish tail lamps. However, the sketch does not feature the Venue badge at the centre of the tailgate, which we have seen in the spy shots and in the official images. The sketches also reveal the side profile of the Venue with roof rails, a floating roof and a sharp shoulder line running across the entire length of the SUV. All of these elements are likely to make way to the production-spec model as well. Moreover, instead of the concept-like big alloys shown in the sketch, the Venue will be equipped with 16-inch dual-tone alloys wrapped in 205/60-section tyres. 2019 Hyundai Venue Official Sketches Revealed Inside the cabin, things look a bit different. Where the car spied earlier featured an all-black cabin, sketches reveal a dual-tone finish. The cabin layout, however, looks identical to what we have seen earlier. We believe Hyundai will offer the dual-tone cabin as standard across the range while the all-black interior will be exclusive to the Sport variant only. The sketch also reveals the gear knob and manual controls for AC vents, which look a lot different from what we have seen in the spy shots till now. However, there are some similarities as well. Like the car spied earlier, the sketch also shows features such as a floating 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and controls for auto AC with an integrated display. 2019 Hyundai Venue Official Sketches Revealed Moreover, the sketch also reveals that the Venue gets rear AC vents, a space to store an umbrella in the dashboard and a rotary dial behind the gear knob, possibly to switch between different drive modes. Although not visible here, other features that are already confirmed for the Venue include a sunroof, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support for the infotainment system and e-Sim connectivity, which will be a segment-first feature. The Venue will go on sale in India in May 2019. It will be available with both petrol and diesel engine options that will help it to take on the likes of the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport and the Mahindra XUV300. Hyundai is expected to price the Venue from Rs 8 lakh to Rs 12 lakh.
