Three injured in blast after constable explained judge 'how a grenade works'

In Karachi’s (Pakistan) Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) a hand grenade exploded inside courtroom after a judge asked a police constable if he knew how grenades worked. Interestingly, the constable, instead of explaining his expertise in weapons and grenade handling to the judge, opted to demonstrate practically. He promptly pulled out the pin from the grenade! This resulted in a loud explosion, injuring three including the constable, another policeman and a court clerk. They were taken to a nearby hospital for first aid. As per Pak media reports, the explosion took place while hearing of a case was underway in the courtroom. As a result, court's proceeding was briefly halted. According to media reports, an investigation officer Abid Ali the grenade in question was brought to the courtroom as an evidence. Before production in the court, the bomb, reportedly, was not defused. Fearing a terrorist attack, the police and paramilitary forces in the vicinity immediately surrounded the area after the explosion. It is safe to say that now the whole court knows how grenades work, including the curious judge. The constable who apparently knew how a grenade worked will be punished rigorously by authorities after he recovers from his injuries, said a media report. Watch video: Video courtesy-geonews/YouTube
