JLF 2022: 'Gehraiyaan' Fame Ankur Tewari Opens Up On His Music & Love For Lata Mangeshkar's Songs
Besides being a music director, Ankur Tewari is also a writer, director, singer, and lyricist. On the work front, the musician revealed that he is planning to launch his album 'Akela' this year.
New Delhi: Musician Ankur Tewari on Sunday said that music is a binding force in a world that has people agreeing and disagreeing with each other all the time.
"Wherever there is a message of love, people listen," he stated, after his performance at the 15th edition of Jaipur Literature Festival.
Speaking to ABP LIVE about his gig at the JLF-2022, Ankur Tewari said: "After 3 years, it felt like everyone was together. My band was also very happy while performing. If it were up to us, we would have continued to perform the whole night."
"One of the most interesting things about life is you meet people who agree or disagree with you. In music, even when people disagree with you, songs can enter their hearts. Even those who disagree with you will listen to your songs," the music director said.

Besides being a music director, Ankur Tewari is also a screenplay writer, singer, and lyricist. His most recent work in Deepika Padukone starrer 'Gehraiyaan' has won him a lot of praise.
His body of work involves the 2019 film 'Gully Boy', 2017 film 'Chef', and shows like 'Made in Heaven', and 'Four More Shots Please'.
Talking to ABP LIVE, Ankur Tewari spoke about the role of music in people's lives: "Everyone in this world wants to live with love, music works as a glue in the same."
When asked about what genre does he classify his music in, the musician responded by saying, "Those who sell music classify it in a genre. We just make music. For me, there are only two types of music, which you like or you don't like. If it's moving your body and soul then it is good music."
On the work front, he revealed that he is planning to launch his album 'Akela' this year. Besides this, he is working in films like Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Pandey starrer 'Kho Gaye Hum Kahan' and Zoya Akhtar's 'Nacheez'.
The singer-music director also opened up about his musical connection with veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar who recently passed away.
"With Lata Mangeshkar Ji, you feel like she is a constant. I can't believe that she is no more because certain things in my life have remained with me from the beginning. Her music has been a constant, so I can't imagine her to be no more."
The 15th edition of the Jaipur Literature Festival, which began on March 5, concludes on Monday. It was held in a hybrid format with its on-ground events from March 10 to March 14 at Clarks Amer, Jaipur, Rajasthan.
