Puja Rituals
Krishna devotees observe fast and have one meal a day before. On Janmashtami, many devotees make a 'sankalpa' to observe fast and break it the next day when both Rohini Nakshatra and Ashtami tithi are over.
If you are celebrating at home, place the idol of Lord Krishna in the northeast direction. Most people deck up the idol and place of worship with hues of yellow and blue, and devotees also dress up in these colours since it is believed that it brings them good fortune, luck and peace.
