Akshaya Tritiya on a Rohini Nakshatra day, preferably Wednesday, is considered very auspicious. 'Akshaya' means "never diminishing." As a result, the benefits of performing any Japa, Yajna, Pitra-Tarpan, or Dan-Punya on this day never diminish and last forever.
