Kerala PSC: Mother-Son Duo From Malappuram Clear Public Service Commission Exam Together

While speaking about the achievement, son Vivek said that his father arranged all facilities for them while with his mother's help he has come this far

Every year Public Service Commission (PSC) sees unique applicants and this year it has welcomed a mother-son duo, who are 42 and 24 years, respectively. Mother Bindu and son Vivek, hailing from Kerala's Malappuram, cleared Public Service Commission examination together this year.

While speaking about the achievement, Vivek said that his father arranged all facilities for them but with his mother's help he has come this far.

"We went together to coaching classes. My mother brought me to this and my father arranged all facilities for us. We got a lot of motivation from our teachers. We both studied together but never thought that we'll qualify together. We're both very happy," Vivek said, as quoted by news agency ANI.

It all started nine years ago when Bindhu began to read books to encourage her son Vivek to read while studying in class 10. Bindu was an Anganwadi teacher when she got habituated to reading books. Both mother and son translated the habit to clear the government services exam together. Bindu cleared the Last Grade Servants exams while her son cleared the Lower Divisional Clerk exam with 92nd and 38th ranks, respectively.

Earlier, Bindu attempted the exam thrice and she couldn't clear it. Then she enrolled her son at the same coaching centre, where she was being coached, and in the fourth attempt cleared the exam along with her son, said an NDTV report.

She was reportedly pushed to try over and again by her son during the repeated attempts. After garnering an experience as a teacher for a decade, Bindu will be switching to a government position now.
