Bear Trapped In Well In Kerala, Rescued After Over 12 Hours
Bear trapped in well: The bear fell into the well reportedly while trying to catch a chicken at 12.30 Am on Thursday.
A giant bear that got trapped in a well of a residential area in Vellanad area of rural Thiruvananthapuram was rescued after being tranquilised on Thursday.
According to ANI, "Kerala: A bear that fell in a well in the Vellanad area of rural Thiruvananthapuram was successfully rescued."

The bear fell into the well at 12.30 Am on Thursday. The bear reportedly fell while it tried to catch a chicken.
The incident came to light after the locals alerted the police and forest officials. Soon, forest officials rushed to the spot and started the rescue operation.
The visuals of the rescue attempts showed the first tranquiliser dart missing the bear and it was successful only on the second try. The veterinarian who darted the bear told reporters here the animal was physically healthy, but it would mentally disturbed as it was trapped inside the well for several hours and also because of the huge crowd that had gathered to see the rescue attempts.
However, after it was darted, the bear which was trapped inside the well for over nine hours, went under the water and did not come up. As forest officials and locals could not bring the bear back onto the net, they decided to pump out the water from the well using two motors.
After the water level resided, a couple of rescue officials entered the well and got hold of the animal. Then they made the animal fit into the net and lifted the net with the help of other officials and the public standing near the mouth of the well.
