Sri Ram Sene Chief Pramod Muthalik Barred From Entering Dakshina Kannada District
The SP had also reportedly said that Mutalik was present even when there was a law and order problem in Bellare after the funeral procession of Praveen.
Chennai: The Chief of Sri Ram Sene Pramod Muthalik has been taken into preventive custody a day after he was denied entry to Dakshina Kannada Police District on Thursday. The prohibitory order was issued against him by the district Collector and city magistrate after Muthalik wanted to meet the family of Praveen Nettaru, who was murdered on Tuesday.
Deputy Commissioner KV Rajendra said Muthalik has been denied entry considering the sensitivity of the situation in the police districts comprising of Bantwal, Belthangady, Puttur and Sullia taluks.
On Thursday, the order was issued under Section 144 (3) of Code of Criminal Procedure after SP reported to him stating that he already visited the residence of Praveen Nettaru on Wednesday.

The SP also reportedly said that Mutalik's presence where there are already rumours of Muslim community members committing the murder would disturb the communal harmony.

Mutalik also has a history of giving provocative speeches that caused disturbances to communal harmony, said a report on The Hindu.
On Thursday, a 23-year-old Muslim man was hacked to death by miscreants at Surathkal of Mangaluru district. Following the murder, the police imposed Section 144 in places including Surathkal, Bajpe and Mulki to avoid any untoward incident.
The murder also took place at a time when Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai was in the district to pay homage to the departed BJP member.
