Late Actor Puneeth Rajkumar's Last Rites To Be Performed On Sunday

Owning to huge crowd visiting one last time to see their favourite personality and the delay in returning of actor's daughter, the family has considered postponing the funeral and last rites to Sunday

Chennai: Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai on Saturday said that the funeral of late actor Puneeth Rajkumar will be performed on Sunday as his daughter -- who lives in the USA -- would be reaching Bengaluru only by 7 PM this evening. 

Speaking to media, Karnataka CM Bommai said, "Daughter of actor Puneeth Rajkumar has reached Delhi (from US) & will arrive in Bengaluru by 7 pm today. As per our tradition, we don't perform funerals after sunset. His last rites will be performed at Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru tomorrow."

As earlier reported, procession with mortal remains of the late actor was supposed to begin at 3 PM on Saturday from the Kantheerava Stadium but owning to huge crowd visiting one last time to see their favourite personality and the delay in returning of actor's daughter, the family has considered postponing the funeral and last rites to Sunday. 

Reportedly Puneeth's final rites will be performed next to his father's memorial with full state honour. CM Bommai urged the fans to maintain decorum while making a visit to the late actor one last time.
