New Delhi [India], August 11 (ANI): After the Uttar Pradesh Madarsa Shiksha Parishad (MSP) directed all madarasas affiliated to it to sing the national song and unfurl the national flag on August 15, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) termed it as a welcome move.
BJP leader Satyapal Singh said that the initiative should have been taken a long time ago, citing 'Vande Matarm' played a major part in our struggle for independence.
He said, "This song united the people of the country during our struggle for Independence."
Speaking on the order issued by the MSP, he said, "This should have happened a long time ago. We should remember that thousands of people gave their lives for our freedom."
He added that this will instill a sense of patriotism in the younger generations.
Earlier, the MSP issued a circular directed all madarsas affiliated to it to unfurl the national flag and recite the national anthem on August 15.
