Shaktikanta Das appointed India's G 20 Sherpa

New Delhi [India], November 27 (ANI): Former Economic Affairs Secretary Shaktikanta Das has been appointed as India's G 20 Sherpa for the development track surrounding the summit.

He will hold the position till December 31, 2018, the Ministry of Finance tweeted on Monday.

While the Finance track is managed by Subhash Chandra Garg, Secretary (Economic Affairs) as India's deputy to G -20, the Development track is coordinated by the Sherpa.

"The Department of Economic Affairs will provide necessary support to the Sherpa," the Finance Ministry said.
