Inauguration of 'All India Bakery' at Uri

Uri (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], July 22 (ANI): All Women Bakery was inaugurated at Chinar 9 Jawan Club Uri today. The bakery has been set with the 'joint initiative of Aseem foundation, a Pune based NGO and the Uri Brigade.

The bakery has been set up jointly by the Aseem Foundation, a Pune based NGO and the Indian Army's Uri Brigade.

Four girls who were trained in a Confectionery Course (running at Chinar 9 Jawan Club, Uri) have been employed by the Aseem Foundation in the bakery. These trained girls will bake Apple Walnut Cookies, which will subsequently be sold in Maharashtra under the brand 'Kosher Krunch'.

This initiative by the Aseem Foundation and the Army will not only provide employment to these girls, but will also go a long way in empowering women hailing from far flung border areas.(ANI)
