10 States Account For 74 Percent of New Covid-19 Cases, Know All About Latest Surge

New Delhi: The Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry on Saturday said ten states, including Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Karnataka, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Rajasthan, have reported 74.15 percent of the new Covid-19 cases.

The seven states of Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Kerala cumulatively account for 66.66 percent of India’s total active cases.

The Health Ministry said 12 states, including Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Karnataka, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Bihar and West Bengal, are displaying an upward trajectory in the daily new cases.
India’s total active caseload has reached 25,52,940, which comprises 15.37 percent of the country’s total positive cases. A net incline of 1,24,324 cases recorded from the total active caseload in the last 24 hours.
The Health Ministry further said the National Mortality Rate has been falling and currently stands at 1.14 percent.
Ten states, including Maharashtra, Delhi, Karnataka, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, and Punjab, account for 82.28 percent of the new deaths.

The Health Ministry added 2,624 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours. Maharashtra saw the maximum casualties at 773 followed by Delhi with 348 daily deaths.
This comes as the Covid-19 patients and their family members are struggling to find a vacant bed for treatment. Several families are complaining about the shortages, which also includes oxygen supplies and essential medicines, as the cases continue to surge across the country.
The critical patients needing immediate ventilator care or oxygen supply are ending up travelling long distances due to the struggle in accessing hospital beds in their respective regions and this has instilled fear among several people.
