Pakistani Comedian Umer Sharif Passes Away At 66 In Germany
The news of his death came as a shock to the Pakistani entertainment industry and many celebrities offered their condolences on social media.
New Delhi: One of the greatest comedians Umer Sharif passed away at the age of 66. The popular Pakistani comedian breathed his last in Germany. According to a report of Radio Pakistan, the comedian was admitted to a hospital in Germany. The report further added that Umer Sharif had to be admitted as his health started deteriorating after he travelled for 7 long hours by air ambulance to reach the United States for his treatment.
Meanwhile, earlier, according to a report of Radio Pakistan, ‘The Sindh government had sanctioned a grant of 40 million rupees for medical treatment of legendary artist and he was being transported to the United States through an air ambulance’.

Ali Zafar tweeted, “Complete loss of words on passing away of the legendary Umar Sharif sahab. May Allah grant him the highest place in Jannah and give his family peace. Ameen.”
Popular Pakistani actor and producer Humayun Saeed tweeted, “Deeply saddened to learn about Umer Sharif sb. He was without any doubt the ultimate comedy king. May Allah bless his soul. We will miss you Umer bhai!”

Umer Sharif started his career as a stage performer at the age of 14 and went to become the ‘King of Comedy’. Apart from being a comedian, Umer Sharif was also an actor, director and producer. He was also the host of the 2009 show – ‘The Shareef Show’.
