New Delhi: Popular TV actor Shaheer Sheikh is currently winning hearts as Abir in Star Plus’ newly launched show ‘Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke’. The show, which is the spin-off of ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’, has opened with a good response. The daily soap topped the TRP charts in the very first week itself. Before ‘Yeh Rishtey’, Shaheer was seen in ‘Dastaan-E-Mohabbat: Salim Anarkali’. The handsome actor recently attended the launch event of the historical drama co-starring Sonarika Bhadoria in Indonesia. At the launch event, Shaheer shared the stage with his former girlfriend Ayu Ting Ting. The duo did some shows and events in Indonesia together and that’s when they started dating each other. However, their relationship ended in 2015 and Shaheer returned back to India to focus on his TV shows. Shaheer acknowledged that both of them have moved on in their respective roles. The ‘Navya’ actor said that he didn’t mean to hurt Ayu and in case, he did, he was sorry. Shaheer and Ayu dated for a brief period and their break-up grabbed several eyeballs. The ‘Mahabharat’ actor met her on the sets of an Indonesian reality show. Unfortunately, the culture and language barrier led to their separation. "Even though she spoke English, we could hardly understand each other’s emotions. People around also tried to influence us. They were against me dating her as she was a single mother. Misunderstandings snowballed into bigger issues. Sometimes, things don’t work out when they aren’t meant to be,’’ Shaheer had earlier told Times Of India in an interview. After Ayu Ting Ting, Shaheer Sheikh was rumoured to be in a relationship with his ‘Kuch Rang’ co-star Erica Fernandes. However, the two popular TV celebs have denied all the rumours.
