Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah's Nattu Kaka Aka Ghanashyam Nayak Undergoes Surgery, Reveals '8 Knots Were Removed From Neck'

New Delhi: Veteran actor Ghanshyam Nayak, who is fondly known for playing the role of Nattu Kaka in Sony SAB’s ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’, underwent a surgery earlier this week at a hospital in Mumbai. The actor was not keeping well since some days and the doctors advised him to undergo a surgery after a lump was detected in his neck. According to a report in an entertainment portal, Ghanashyam Nayak’s surgery lasted for four hours. He was given food to eat on Thursday (September 10), three days after the operation. Ghanashyam, while talking to the daily, revealed that eight knots were removed from his neck. The knots were sent for further testing. He also said that his ‘Taarak Mehta’ co-stars are waiting for him to return to the sets. "Eight knots were removed. And, I really don't know how so many had formed. Those knots have been sent for further testing but I have faith in God, jo bhi karega achcha hi karega," Nayak told ETimes from the hospital. Ghanashyam Nayak provided his health update and told the portal that he has been advised to take a month’s rest after getting discharged. He added that he doesn’t think he would be able to resume shooting for ‘TMKOC’ until Navratri 2020. The ‘Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai’ further said that his daughter and son are taking good care of him. Ghanshyam Nayak has won several hearts with his performance as the lovable Nattu Kaka. His character works for Jethalal (Dilip Joshi) in the show. The veteran actor is playing the role for over a decade now.

‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' has bagged the number three spot in the latest set of BARC TRP ratings. The popular sitcom recently saw two big replacements. Sunayana Fozdar stepped into Neha Mehta's shoes  after the latter said goodbye to the show.  Balwinder Singh Suri has replaced Gurucharan Singh as the new Sodhi.
