Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actor Ghanashyam Nayak has reportedly developed a lump in his neck and will undergo a surgery on Sunday (September 6).

New Delhi: Sony SAB’s ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ is one of the most loved shows on Indian television. Ardent fans of the popular sitcom are showering all their love on the show’s characters and it is reflecting in the TRPs. ‘Taarak Mehta’ bagged the number third spot in the latest set of BARC ratings. We had earlier informed you that Gurucharan Singh aka old Sodhi’s father recently underwent an emergency surgery. The actor decided to quit the show to take care of his father. Yes, you read that right! According to a report in a leading daily, the veteran actor will undergo a surgery after he recently developed uneasiness in his neck’s glands.  Ghanashyam Nayak has not been keeping well and will not feature in ‘TMKOC’ for some time. The doctors advised him surgery after a lump was detected in his neck. “A few days ago, Ghanshyam sir was detected with a lump in his neck, and the doctor advised surgery. He will recuperate soon and return back to the show. Nattu kaka is one of the interesting characters in the show and people love watching him. He is a senior actor and masses enjoy his comic timing. Nattu Kaka had also expressed his wish to continue working when the government barred 65 years of age from visiting sets," a source from the production house told Times Of India.
For the uninitiated, Nayak has been playing the role of lovable Nattu Kaka, who works with Jethalal (Dilip Joshi) for over a decade in the show. He couldn’t resume shooting for ‘Taark Mehta’ after the lockdown because the guidelines issued by the Maharashtra government, which barred the actors above the age of 65 from shooting during the on-going COVID-19 pandemic. The fans of the show will have to wait for some more time to see their favourite Nattu Kaka.
‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’, which successfully completed 12 years on July 28, 2020, recently witnessed two big replacements. Sunayana Fozdar replaced Neha Mehta as new Anjali  bhabhi while Balwinder Singh Suri stepped into Gurucharan’s shoes to play the new Sodhi.
