New Delhi: 'Mahabharata' actor Nitish Bhardwaj, who portrayed Lord Krishna in the television series, has lodged a police complaint against his former spouse, Madhya Pradesh cadre IAS Smita Bhardwaj. Bhopal Police Commissioner Harinarayanachari Mishra confirmed this, stating, "We have received a complaint from Nitish Bhardwaj. We are investigating the matter and trying to find out the facts."

Nitish Bhardwaj portrayed Lord Krishna in the widely watched television series "Mahabharata." Because of his portrayal of Lord Krishna, he became well-known.

On March 14, 2009, Nitish Bhardwaj wed Smita, an IAS official from the Madhya Pradesh cadre. It is said that their mutual friends introduced them. The twin daughters born to them are currently eleven years old.

Nitish and Smita divorced in 2022, having been married for 12 years. They parted ways in 2019.

Nitish Bharadwaj filed for divorce in September 2019 at the Mumbai Family Court, he revealed in an interview with Bombay Times over his split from wife Smita. "I filed for a divorce in the Family Court in Mumbai in September 2019. I do not want to get into the reasons why we separated. The matter is in court right now.
