'Let The Police Take The Call': Sheezan Khan’s Family Demands Privacy Amid Tunisha Sharma Suicide Case
Shafaq Naaz and Falaq Naaz, two of Sheezan's sisters, released a statement on Monday asking that their family's privacy be respected.
New Delhi: On Sunday, the Waliv police brought Sheezan Mohammed Khan, the suspect in the suicide case involving the late TV actress Tunisha Sharma, before the Vasai court. The police have taken him into custody and he will be there for the next four days. After a case of facilitating suicide was filed against Sheezan, he was detained and charged under Section 306 of the Indian Penal Code.
In the show ‘Ali Baba: Dastaan-E-Kabul,’ Tunisha and Sheezan played opposite one another. She was discovered dead on Saturday on the set of the TV show.
Shafaq Naaz and Falaq Naaz, two of Sheezan's sisters, released a statement on Monday asking that their family's privacy be respected. They trust the legal system completely now that Sheezan is helping out by collaborating with the police.
The sisters responded, "Accusations have been levelled against Sheezan and the police are investigating the case. Let the police take the call."
Sheezan family statement read as follows: “To everyone who’s been trying to reach out to us for a statement on the case- please allow our family privacy in this grave situation. It’s upsetting to see the members of the media constantly calling us and even standing below our apartment buildings. We have full faith in the Indian judiciary system, and Sheezan is cooperating with the Mumbai police through all the procedures. We will talk about this when the time is right, but for now, please allow us the privacy which our family deserves right now.”
Meanwhile, in a video message Tunisha's mother Vanita Sharma, who had registered a complaint against Sheezan, alleged that Sheezan had promised to marry the actress, but then broke up with her. "Despite being involved with another woman, he continued a relationship with Tunisha. He used her for three-four months. I just want to say that Sheezan should be punished, he should not be spared. I have lost my child," Vanita said in the video.
The Waliv Police on Sunday said the post-mortem reports of the actor have specified 'hanging' as the cause of death.
Tunisha Sharma's last rites will be performed on December 27 in Mira road area.
