Drugs Case: NCB Arrests TV Actor Gaurav Dixit, Recovers MD From His House

Mumbai: The Narcotics Control Bureau on Friday (August 27) arrested TV actor Gaurav Dixit after the officials recovered MD and Charas from his residence during a raid. According to ANI, the actor was arrested in connection with drugs case. The NCB officers conducted a raid at his place after his name came to fore during an interrogation of ‘Bigg Boss 7’ contestant Ajaz Khan.  

"NCB arrested TV actor Gaurav Dixit after MD and Charas was recovered from his residence in a raid. He has been arrested in connection with the interrogation of actor Ajaz Khan: Narcotics Control Bureau," ANI's tweet read.

Why Was Ajaz Khan Arrested?

 The Narcotics Control Bureau arrested Ajaz Khan in an alleged drugs case in March 2021 after he landed at the Mumbai airport. According to a report in IANS, the actor was detained for questioning after he arrived from Jaipur. He was placed under arrest the next day. The NCB officials quizzed him for several hours at the their office in Mumbai. 

 NCB Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede, while talking to the news agency, said that Ajaz's name emerged during an interrogation of Shadab Shaikh alias Batata. Shadab is a notorious drug peddler, who was also arrested in a drugs case.

Last month, a Mumbai court rejected Ajaz Khan's bail application in the drugs case. Eijaz has worked in movies like 'Bbuddah... Hoga Terra Baap', 'Lamhaa' and 'Allah Ke Banday'. He grabbed eyeballs during his stint in Salman Khan's 'Bigg Boss 7'. 

Bollywood Drugs Case

The law enforcement agency has arrested many drug peddlers while unraveling the alleged drugs angle in Bollywood, which stemmed from Sushant Singh Rajput's death case. Several tinsel town celebs have been questioned as part of NCB's probe into the matter. The likes of Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Sara Ali Khan were issued summons to appear before the federal agency.
