Vettaiyan Box Office Collection Day 8: Rajinikanth Film Beats Lifetime Collection Of Vijay's Varisu; Earns Rs. 300 Cr

New Delhi: 'Vettaiyan' is having a good run at the box office. The Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan film has now crossed the Rs. 300 cr makr globally within 8 days since release. The Tamil superstar's film is being loved and appreciated by audiences across the world and the box office number proves so. 'Vettaiyan' collected Rs. 77.90 cr on its opening day and has already crossed the worldwide box office collection of Vijay's 'Varisu', which released last year.

'Vettaiyan' collected Rs 45.26 crore on its Day 2, Rs 47.87 crore on Day 3, Rs 41.32 crore on Day 4, Rs 27.80 crore on Day 5, Rs 24.16 crore on Day 6, Rs 20.58 crore on Day 7, and Rs 17.23 crore on Day 8, never showing signs of dropping even on weekdays. With another weekend approaching, analysts only expect a further rise in the gross collections of the film.

 

On its second Thursday, the film's worlwide box office collection reached Rs. 302.12 cr. Film critic and trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan shared the film's figures on his official X handle. He wrote, "New day new record by Superstar Rajinikanth as Vettaiyan zooms past ₹300 cr milestone mark. Content oriented film winning at the box office is a positive sign. Audiences telling the world to make more such movies."

With the current record, 'Vettaiyan' has beaten Thalapathy Vijay's 2023 release 'Varisu'. 'Varisu' collected Rs. 297.55 cr globally.

However, on the domestic front, 'Vettaiyan' collected Rs. 3.15 cr on Day 8. This drop will perhaps be recovered in the coming weekend.

In India, 'Vettaiyan' collected Rs. 31.7 cr on its opening day, Rs. 24 cr on Day 2, Rs. 26.75 cr on Day 3, Rs. 22.3 cr on Day 4, Rs. 5.6 cr on Day 5, Rs. 4.3 cr on Day 6, and Rs. 4.3 cr on Day 7.

The total India collection for 'Vettaiyan' stands at Rs. 122.10 cr. As per Sacnilk.com, the film's occupancy on Thursday was as follows: Tamil: 16.79%, Telugu: 14.40%, Hindi: 7.19%.

Directed by  TJ Gnanavel of 'Jai Bhim' fame, 'Vettaiyan' is about an encounter specialist whose methods are tested when he investigates a scam involving the education sector. The film also stars Fahadh Faasil Rana Daggubati and Dushara Vijayan in key roles.
