On Kamal Haasan’s birthday, the makers of his upcoming film Thug Life, directed by Mani Ratnam, unveiled a glimpse and announced that the film will be released in theaters in multiple languages on June 5, 2025.

Thug Life Release Date and Glimpse

The film's producers, Raaj Kamal Films International, shared a 44-second video teaser in Tamil, English, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam with the message, “His STORY, His RULES.” The power-packed glimpse offered an exciting look at the film without revealing much of the plot. Kamal is portrayed as both a warrior and a modern-day man, and the teaser also features Silambarasan TR.

Anticipation mounts as Haasan steps into the gritty role of Rangraya Sakthivel Nayakar. With masterful fight sequences, his portrayal captures a raw, time-hardened finesse, hinting at an epic narrative of underworld grit and survival.

Thug Life is a cinematic giant, marking the third collaboration between two titans of Indian cinema—director Mani Ratnam and the legendary Kamal Haasan—following their celebrated work in Nayakan and the Ponniyin Selvan duology. With Ratnam’s visionary direction, A.R. Rahman’s electrifying score, and Haasan’s unmatched prowess, audiences are in for an unforgettable ride through a high-octane action extravaganza.
