Salaar Producer On Rumours Of Yash's Cameo In Prabhas Starrer: 'There's No Cameo In The Movie'

Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran's ‘Salaar: Part One - Ceasefire’ is all set to release on Dec 22. There were speculations around the Prashanth Neel directorial that it will have Yash’s cameo.

New Delhi: Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran's ‘Salaar: Part One - Ceasefire’ is all set to be released on December 22. There were speculations around the Prashanth Neel directorial that it will have KGF star Yash’s cameo. The audience was expecting a crossover with KGF’s Rocky Bhai making an appearance in the film. Now the producer of the film Vijay Kiragandur  has cleared the air about these rumours.

In a conversation with India Today, producer Vijay denied Yash’s cameo and said, “I think [director] Prashanth has clarified already that there is no link [between KGF and Salaar]. There's no cameo in the movie. So that is not true.”

The speculations around Yash’s cameo became strong when child singer Theertha Subhash stated that she was excited about ‘Yash uncle’s cameo' in ‘Salaar’. She later released a statement saying she got confused. “I have seen KGF many times. My father mentioned to me that the team of Salaar was the same one, who made KGF. So, I assumed that Yash uncle will also be in Salaar,” she wrote on Instagram.

Meanwhile, the film has got ‘A’ certificate from the censor board because of its violence. Talking about the same, the film's producer told India Today, "We obviously wanted a ‘U/A’ because we want the family audience to come and watch the film. At the same time, we are now okay with an ‘A’ certificate. The rules have changed for the censor board and when they explained the reason behind it, we came to terms with it. It happened with ‘Animal’ as well. We met the censor officers, and they explained to us the new rules."

“They suggested a few cuts to get ‘U/A’, but director Prashanth decided against the cuts because those were the scenes which would add to the character building of a violent man. Those scenes are important,” he added,

The movie, which has a runtime of 2 hours and 55 minutes, also stars Shruti Haasan, and Jagapathi Babu.
