Prithviraj Sukumaran Shares Health Update After Surgery: 'It's Rest And Physiotherapy Ahead For A Couple Of Months'

Actor Prithviraj Sukumaran, who recently injured his leg while shooting a stunt sequence for his upcoming Malayalam movie ‘Vilayath Buddha’, on Tuesday shared his health update.

New Delhi: Actor Prithviraj Sukumaran, who recently injured his leg while shooting a stunt sequence for his upcoming Malayalam movie ‘Vilayath Buddha’, on Tuesday shared his health update and said that he has been advised to rest. 

The actor took to social media to give his health update to his fans and followers. He wrote, “I had an accident while shooting an action sequence on 'Vilayath Buddha'. Fortunately, I'm in the hands of experts who performed keyhole surgery and I'm now recouping. It's rest and physiotherapy ahead for a couple of months.” 

The actor, known for films such as 'Ayyappanum Koshiyum', 'Pokkiri Raja', 'Kuruthi', and 'Lucifer', said he will try his best to use the recovery period constructively.

"Will try my best to use that time constructively, and I promise to fight through the pain to recover fully and get back into action asap. Thank you to all those who reached out and expressed concern and love.”  he added. 

Prithviraj, who will receive physiotherapy for a couple of months, got injured on the film's set at Marayoor in Idukki district on Sunday afternoon. He was shifted to a private hospital in Kochi where he underwent keyhole surgery on Monday. 

The shooting of 'Vilayath Buddha’ has been temporarily halted. The film, directed by Jayan Nambiyar, revolves around a conflict between two lead characters over the ownership of a sandalwood tree. It is based on a book by G R Indugopan. The film also stars Anu Mohan and Priyamvada Krishnan.  

The actor will also be seen in Prabhas’s upcoming film Salaar. He will be playing an antagonist in the movie. The film, directed by Prashanth Neel, will be released on September 28. The actor will also be seen as an antagonist in Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff starrer 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan'.
