Singer Honey Singh ‘Manhandled’ At South Delhi Club During Show, FIR Lodged

The Delhi Police has registered an FIR after Yo Yo Honey Singh and his lawyer Ishan Mukherjee complained of 'nuisance, abuse and intimidation on March 28.

New Delhi: Singer Yo Yo Honey Singh, who came to perform a show in a club in South Delhi, has been allegedly misbehaved and scuffled. A complaint was filed against a group of four to five unidentified people after singer Honey Singh was allegedly assaulted at a club in South Delhi on March 27. Based on this complaint, Delhi Police has now registered an FIR.

According to the news agency PTI, the Delhi Police has registered an FIR after Yo Yo Honey Singh and his lawyer Ishan Mukherjee complained of 'nuisance, abuse and intimidation on March 28. 

Police said that the incident took place on March 27 at School Club in South Extension-2. According to the FIR, Honey Singh had come to perform at the club on the intervening night of March 26 and 27. Then on the night of March 27, during the show, a group of four-five people forcibly climbed onto the stage and started scuffling with the cast.

"A case under sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered and five accused have been identified," Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Benita Mary Jaiker said.

The FIR read, “The 4-5 unknown men started misbehaving and disrupted the show. They started showing beer at the crowd and pushed the artists on the stage. After that, a person in a check shirt caught my (Singh) hand and started to pull me to the front. I was trying to avoid it but the person kept on challenging and threatening me. I also observed that he was armed. Another person in a red shirt was making a video and said ‘Bhaga Diya Honey Singh ko’.”
