'Sharmaji Namkeen': Ranbir, Alia, Aamir, Kareena And Others Groove To 'Om Shanti Om' As They Pay Tribute To Late Rishi Kapoor

The audience is eagerly awaiting to see the veteran actor's swansong film 'Sharmaji Namkeen', all set to premiere on March 31 on an OTT platform.

New Delhi: Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor, known as the romance king of the industry, will always be a legend. The actor's untimely demise on April 30, 2020, left everyone heartbroken. He is known as one of the most versatile actors of Bollywood, who portrayed characters belonging to all generations in a career spanning over five decades. Rishi Kapoor has departed to the other world, but his legacy will continue to live on forever, and his last film 'Sharmaji Namkeen' is an apt example of the same.

The audience is eagerly awaiting to see the veteran actor's swansong film 'Sharmaji Namkeen', that is all set to premiere on March 31, on an OTT platform. While Rishi Kapoor's son Ranbir Kapoor has been actively promoting the film, talking about how it holds a special place for him, the makers have also gone a step ahead to pay a much-deserved tribute to the legendary actor. 

Actor and filmmaker Farhan Akhtar recently shared a video, that shows Rishi Kapoor taking over audiences' hearts as he performs on the song 'Om Shanti Om' from his hit film 'Karz'. But there is a twist, the video shared by Farhan also features a hoard of celebrities including Ranbir Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Aadar Jain, Alia Bhatt, Aamir Khan, Tara Sutaria, Farhan Akhtar, Ananya Panday, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Vicky Kaushal and Arjun Kapoor.

The popular celebs can be seen shaking a leg to the hit track as they pay their tribute to late Rishi Kapoor.

Sharing the video on his Instagram, Farhan Akhtar, whose production house Excel Entertainment has produced the film, wrote, "A memorable actor, an unforgettable icon of the screen💖"

Rishi Kapoor's wife and actor Neetu Kapoor also shared the video on her Instagram with the caption, "Lovely tribute to Kapoor Saab."

'Sharmaji Namkeen'  tells the story of a 58-year old widower, who rekindles his passion for cooking post his retirement. The film, directed by Hitesh Bhatia and produced by Excel Entertainment in association with MacGuffin Pictures, also stars Juhi Chawla, Suhail Nayyar, Taaruk Raina, Satish Kaushik, Sheeba Chaddha, and Isha Talwar.

'Sharmaji Namkeen' is set to premiere on Prime Video on March 31.
