Rashmika Mandanna Responds To Rumours Of Kannada Industry Banning Her Over Kantara Controversy

Actor Rashmika Mandanna received scathing criticism after she said she hadn't seen Risabh Shetty-starrer 'Kantara'.

New Delhi: Actor Rashmika Mandanna has at last answered to the trolls who have been attacking her for not watching 'Kantara'. When she revealed that she had not seen Risabh Shetty's all-India hit, the 'Pushpa' star became the target of harsh criticism.

The actor, who was attending an event in Hyderabad on Thursday, announced that she had finally seen the movie and offered her congratulations to the team. Weeks after stating that she hadn't seen the popular Kannada film and receiving flak for it, Mandanna finally responded.

“I just have love for them. I don’t know what else I’m supposed to say about it. It’s left to them,” Rashmika said while talking to reporters at the event venue.

She was asked if she had watched 'Kantara', to which she replied,“I was asked if I watched the film 2-3 days after its release. I couldn’t back then. I’ve now watched it and also messaged the team. They also thanked me for the message. The world doesn’t know what’s happening on the inside. We can’t put a camera on our personal lives and show it.”

Rashmika went on to say that what is said about her professional life is more important than what is said about her personal life.

The actor was also questioned by the reporters about whether any Kannada film producers had banned her. “So far, no producer has banned me,” she clarified.

Rashmika Mandanna earlier posted a lengthy note on Instagram in response to all of her naysayers. The actor was upfront about how the unnecessary criticism she suffered has harmed her personal relationships.

“It’s heart breaking and frankly quite demoralising when I’m being ridiculed and mocked by the internet especially for things that I HAVE NOT SAID. I’ve found that bits of things I’ve said in interviews are being turned against me. False narratives being spread across the internet that can be very harmful to me and the relationships I have in or outside the industry,” Rashmika wrote.

Your constant love and support is what has kept me going and given me the courage to come out and say this. I only have love for everyone around me, the people I’ve worked with so far, all of whom I’ve always admired. I will continue to work hard and do better for you. Because like I said, making you happy -makes me happy. Be kind everyone. We’re all trying to do our best,” she concluded her post.
