Dragonfly Club Mumbai Raid: Suresh Raina Booked As Cops Conduct Late Night Raid; Guru Randhawa, Sussanne Khan, Badshah Also Present

Mumbai Night Club Raid: Cricketer Suresh Raina who was present at the time of the raid was booked under IPC section 188, sources in Mumbai Police have said. Cops raided the Dragonfly club on wee hours of Tuesday for hosting a party late night and has booked 7 staffs and 27 customers including several high-profile names.

Mumbai Night Club Raid: Mumbai Police raided Dragonfly club on wee hours of Tuesday for hosting a party late night and has booked 7 staffs and 27 customers including some high-profile names like Cricketer Suresh Raina, Sussanne Khan and singer Guru Randhawa. Rapper Badshah, who was also present at the time of the raid however managed to make a backdoor escape, sources said. Also Read: NCB Questions Arjun Rampal For Nearly 6 Hours; Says ‘Investigation Is Still On, Arjun Will Be Called Again’ Raina who was present at the time of the raid was booked under IPC section 188, sources said.  All the staffs and customers have been reportedly booked under IPC section 188, 269 and Epidemic Diseases Act, as per initial inputs. Sources in Mumbai police said that the raid was conducted in the Dragonfly Club situated in JW Marriott at around 3:00 am on the instructions of DCP Jain. However, it is not yet confirmed that who was the organizer of the party. Badshah made backdoor exit: sources While several celebrities who were present at Dragonfly club somehow managed to escape, rapper Badshah also made an exit from the backside of the club, sources in Mumbai police have stated. Sources also said that it was Badshah who had good terms with the club management. Suresh Raina made no attempt to escape: Sources stated that while other celebrities managed their way out as the cops raided the pub, cricketer Suresh Raina did not make any attempt to flee and expressed ignorance about the night curfew that was put in place by the government earlier on Monday evening. What police said: As per Mumbai Police PRO, "Offence has been registered under sections 188, 269, 34 of the IPC and  under section 51 of the NDMA, against 34 persons at Sahar police station after raid was conducted at 2.50 AM at Dragonfly pub." The raid was conducted for keeping establishment open beyond permissible time limit, not following Covid-19 norms such as social distancing, not wearing face mask, he informed. Responding to police action against the celebrities, BMC Mayor Kishori Pednekar told ABP News "immediate action should be taken against those found flouting rules, endangering lives of others as well. Celebrity or common people, rules are same for all.” The action comes hours after Maharashtra government on Monday announced a return of night curfew for 15 days from December 22, amidst the huge global scare over a new strain of Covid-19 virus detected in the UK.
