'Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi' fame actress Payal Ghosh has accused Anurag Kashyap of sexual misconduct. Kangana Ranaut extended support to the actress after she made the serious allegations.

New Delhi: Actress Payal Ghosh set several tongues wagging when she accused filmmaker Anurag Kashyap of sexual misconduct. The Bengali beauty took to social media to make a shocking allegation against Kashyap that he forced himself on her. She also tagged PMO India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Twitter handles and urged the authorities to provide her security “@anuragkashyap72 has forced himself on me and extremely badly.  @PMOIndia @narendramodi ji, kindly take action and let the country see the demon behind this creative guy. I am aware that it can harm me and my security is at risk. Pls help!,” Payal tweeted. Kangana Ranaut, who is hogging all the limelight these days due to her sensational comments, quoted Payal’s tweet and demanded arrest of Anurag Kashyap. The 'Panga' actress wrote, "Every voice matters #MeToo #ArrestAnuragKashyap."

Who Is Payal Ghosh? Payal Ghosh is an Indian actress, who was seen as Paresh Rawal’s on-screen daughter Pooja Patel in ‘Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi’. The film, which released on September 15, 2017, also starred late Rishi Kapoor and Vir Das.

Payal made her acting debut with BBC’s telefilm ‘Sharpe's Peril’ in 2008. She has worked in several Telugu films including ‘Prayanam’,’ Mr. Rascal’ and ‘Oosaravelli’. The actress was also seen in the Kannada film ‘Varshadhare’. Not many know that Payal has also featured in Star Plus' popular show 'Saath Nibhaana Saathoya'. The second season of the show starring Devoleena Bhattacharjee, Sneha Jain and Harsh Nagar will soon hit the airwaves.

Payal Ghosh, while talking to ABN Telugu, accused Anurag Kashyap of sexual harassment and said that he took her to a room and tried to force himself on her.  She also alleged that the 'Black Friday' director told her that several actresses, who have worked with him in films, are a call away. NCW Chairperson asks Payal Ghosh to send detailed complaint Chairperson of National Commission for Women Rekha Sharma quoted Payal's tweet and asked her to send a detailed complaint to NCW. The actress thanked her and said that she would do the needful. “You may send me the detailed complaint at chairperson-ncw@nic.in and @NCWIndia will look into it,” Rekha Sharma wrote.

Anurag Kashyap is yet to react to the allegations.
