Screenshots of the so-called pre-poll survey of Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections wereshared on social media, misusing the logo and watermark of Press Trust of India (PTI). Citingthe survey, it was claimed that YSRCP was winning the Andhra elections.Investigation:Given the viral nature of this claim, which was being propagated by linking it to PTI's logo andwatermark, we conducted a comprehensive search for any information related to the allegedsurvey on PTI's website and social media handles. Despite our efforts, we found no suchinformation. In the subsequent phase of our investigation, we reached out to the ExecutiveEditor of PTI, who told the Desk that “The viral claim is fake. PTI has nothing to do with thisinfographic. PTI's logo has been misused in this viral claim.Conclusion:The PTI Fact Check Desk investigated and found the viral claim fake. PTI has not published apre-poll survey regarding the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections. Users share fake surveys onsocial media using PTI's logo and watermark.
