Casting Coup: Sunny Deol, Dulquer Salmaan, Shreya Dhanwanthary & Pooja Bhatt To Star In R Balki's New Thriller
R Balki's upcoming thriller, which will mark the return of Sunny Deol to Hindi films after three years, will hit the silver screens in 2022.
Mumbai: Bollywood filmmaker R Balki, known for his films like ‘PadMan’ and ‘Paa’, has announced his project, which will feature several talented actors. Balki’s upcoming thriller will star Sunny Deol, Dulquer Salmaan, Shreya Dhanwanthary and Pooja Bhatt in lead roles. Interestingly, the ‘Cheeni Kum’ director is working on a thriller for the first time in his career.
The writer-director issued a statement to announce the thriller, which will hit the silver screens in the first half of 2022. Balki said that he is quite excited to make a movie in a genre that he never attempted before. He added that the new film ‘banks on the four main performers.
Sunny Deol, known for his acting prowess, has been missing from the big screen since a long time. The thriller will mark his return to Hindi films after three years. Talking about working with the ‘Gadar’ star, Balki said, “I am ecstatic to be working with Sunny, an actor whose booming screen presence conveys so much. Am glad he is back and hoping this new adventure will add a new dimension to his glorious filmography.”

Shreya Dhanwanthary, who is fondly known for her roles in ‘The Family Man’ and ‘Scam 1992’, will be seen romancing Dulquer Salmaan in R Balki’s next film. She made her Bollywood debut with 'Why Cheat India' opposite Emraan Hashmi in 2019. The actress was last seen as Sucheta Dalal in Hansal Mehta's 'Scam 1992', which beamed on SonyLIV.
Pooja Bhatt, who made her comeback with ‘Bombay Begums’, will be seen in a full-fledged role in a film after several years. She played a cameo in ‘Sadak 2’, which starred Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt and Aditya Roy Kapur in lead roles.
R Balki’s last film ‘PadMan’ managed to perform well at the box office upon its release. The comedy drama, which featured Akshay Kumar, Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor, was inspired by the life of social activist Arunachalam Muruganantham.
