New Delhi: Karan Johar’s much-awaited film ‘Student of the Year 2’, which hit the silver screens on May 10, opened up with a good response at the box office. The teen drama starring Tiger Shroff marked the Bollywood debut of Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria. ‘SOTY 2’, despite the scathing reviews from the critics, minted Rs 12.06 on the very first day. The film witnessed a jump on its second day and raked in Rs 14.02 crore to take the total box office collection to Rs 26.08 crore. ‘Student of the Year’, which has been directed by Punit Malhotra, was the solo release of the week. The movie, which was directed by Karan Johar, proved to be a successful launching pad for Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra.
